satisfaction with the newly acquired computer and especially,
with the professional and knowledgeable service I was given at your store. I was having a problem and Mike Clark was beyond patient with me and my problem as it turned out this was a modem problem with Verizon DSL. He suggested and felt it was a connection issue and worked directly with me to resolve the issue. Thanks To the entire staff sales and service, U.S. computer, Corporation.. Okay, I just have to say that I have been dealing with hassles as a minor. When
you are underage, buying computer stuff can be tricky. First off, most 'name
brand' companies, which you have probably seen commercials for, wont take just
cash up front, unless you go to a reseller, which costs more. Their computers
come bloated with all kinds of unnecessary things, and are disproportionately
priced. As my last source of hope, I turned to USC. I'd bought several things
from USC before, and always had good experiences. Mark, who was a very friendly
member of their staff, told me exactly what I needed to hear over the phone. Not
only could he custom build basically the exact machine I needed, but the price
was competitive with the ones I'd seen advertised by huge companies. Granted, I
haven't bought the machine yet, as I do not have 100% of the money, but when I
do get it, my cash is going directly to USC! Unlike the other places that jerked
me around, and didn't know what they were talking about hardware wise, USC did,
and best of all, they will take my cold hard cash, and not need plastic or
invisible bank money. This may be a long comment, but I'm just enthused over the
staffer who identified himself as "Mark". When you call most other places, you
get some ditzy girl, or some dorky guy who doesn't know his USB from his FSB.
Mark knew exactly what I was talking about, every time, and I felt that this
level of understanding what he was selling and what I was looking for is what
really sealed the deal. Thank you USC. In the past I may have thought about
spending money other places, but, no more! All of my friends and family shall
bear witness to your great deeds, and you are now the FIRST place I will spend

To save $90 over your price on a new clone I went to Circuit City and bought a HP with similar features. The HP computer is fair to OK, but the software has problems. It is well made or appears to be but the version of Windows XP home combined with HP's proprietary software doesn't work well and I could not log on to my office until I removed some of the HP (Freedom) software. Worse yet, most of the other software that came with the computer is a trial version of for pay software. I always thought HP built really good products but I am disappointed in this computer. The modem has fax but no voice and no voicemail. The instructions to use the V.92 features say to log on to HP internet site and get the instructions but when you log in there are no instructions. Cheap hardware (the modem), un powered cheap speakers, trial versions and limited versions of software are a poor way to go. I'm disappointed. The warranty is worse. I call HP, they mail the bad component (or the component they think is bad) and I have to install it myself. I'm not in to installing components in computers myself. All the computers I bought from you worked well, the support was great, the software was the real version, not trial or crippled versions. To buy anywhere else is a big mistake. I was going to return the computer, but the return policy at CC on computers differs from their other policies and is much more restrictive and limited to 15 days. Really easy and downloading sure beats driving to the store! Service, and an excellent product, is what USComputer is all about. The few dollars that people may save at the "mega-stores" can never be measured when there is computer trouble and you need to talk to a human fast. Sooner or later service and immediate expertise is what all customers are going to need with your computer.........when that time comes you will wish you had bought you system from USComputer. The KDS (notebook) is so far superior to the older notebook I had that it is almost impossible to explain. The KDS is actually enjoyable to use. The speed is really great, its like being at home or the store with a (desktop) computer. As always I did compare prices and this time it appears that the KDS from you was by far a great deal. Again, Thanks. Also, I really do appreciate your help in taking care of my problems with the Acer. If I ever get anxious about service, just remind me that you always do take care of me. Without your service I would be in a lot of trouble at times. I do hear what other small businesses have to put up with and find it amazing that service can be as bad as it is in other places. Someday we should look up and see how many units I have bought from you... maybe I qualify as a "quantity" customer and get an even better deal next time! (Just joking..) Although I had got several computers from you in the past, I recently was lured to buy a "name brand" computer at the local branch of a national chain store. The salesman told me it had a "year's warranty" but I should buy their 3yr service contract (for a substantial additional amount). Since I never had any trouble with my computers I bought from you, I decided not to spend the money on the store's service contract. So I bought a new NEC Pentium. I registered it online. When I read the warranty it had a 90 day "carry in" labor warranty and a complicated 1 year parts warranty. And a 900 number to call after 90 days. The computer was missing a couple small but necessary items so I went to call NEC-Packard Bell. The number was a toll call, but not toll free! They said they would send the items, and I did receive one of them but and I'm still waiting for the other item. When I asked the chain store to replace it, they said "call NEC" and gave me a toll free number. (And reminded me I had not bought their service contract). Well, I've tried a dozen times to use the toll free number. I either wait on hold a half hour (that's the longest I will wait before hanging up) or after waiting some time a recorded voice says I dialed an illegal extention, then another sweet recorded voice says "GOODBYE" AND THE PHONE HANGS UP. By the time I get through to them, my 90 day warranty will be over! I regret that I didn't get this computer from Mike or Conrad. How easy it always was to get my problem solved at your store. No long distance calls and no wait on hold and no recorded telephone messages....just you guy's saying thats no problem, we'll fix it. Well you warned me, but I had to learn the hard way. My next computer will be from you. Their prices are right in comparison with the other big computer stores but the difference with US Computer is that you are getting the personalized service that all consumers deserve. I would also like to take the time to tell everyone out there that is looking to buy a computer or take a class or have repairs done, go to US Computer 1st. I had purchased my computer from COMPUTER CRAFT, it was a total disaster from the beginning, I had nothing but problems with the computer and the technical support was so poor that my 6 year old nephew probably knows more about computers from kindergarten than the technicians at Computer Craft. I was very dissatisfied with their service and the products that they offer are very cheaply made. Fisher Price puts out a better computer than they do. So the bottom line is don't go with Computer Craft, deal with U.S. Computer, they will be honest and up front with you with any purchase or class or questions that you have. Je Jerimy Horne Cleveland , OH USA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have done business with US Computer in Largo, FL (66th St) twice in the past - the first time upgrading my 386 SX 16 to a 486-66 and after it died from HDD crash (not a US Computer installed part) upgrading that machine to a K6-166 with 24 of RAM and a larger HDD with Win95. I have dealt with your staff in the past specifically Mike the manager and Tom (who spent considerable time upgrading my computer and getting all the old hardware to work with the new stuff and Win95 and have found them always helpful and knowledgeable about computers and operating systems. In fact, there is another store which also builds machines locally and their staff advise against upgrading to win 95 telling me it is "slower" - in fact, for my main uses of dial up networking etc Win 95 has been faster, which is just what Mike and Tom told me would happen. The system works fine (now being used by my kids as my old Pentium 90 is too slow for their games) and has performed well, for several hundred dollars less than a "new" proprietary system, and can testify to the upgradeability of the US computer product. By the way I saw their program on the Time Warner channel the other night and my kid recognized them from the store. Many people do not bother to congratulate a business doing a good job although bare uick to complain. I recommend US Computer to people who ask me about them (as I have one in my office and people are always asking what I "recommend") - I try to steer them away from packages like P-B and mail-order ones especially if they are unfamiliar with computers to the point they have to ask me what I recommend!
